2019 Best of Engagements is here! I love engagement sessions so much that I figured they could use their very own post. When you get an engagement session with Kaleidoscope Imagery, there are a few things you can be certain of: beautiful portraits that are perfect to share with your loved ones, and creative art for the more adventurous spirit.
For me, the delicate balance of portraits, candids, and artistic images is always a top priority. I want my clients to feel like their story is being told while at the same time having a creative experience that they won’t soon forget. So couples should be ready to say cheese for the camera but then let loose, laugh, snuggle, and let their true chemistry shine. Each session is completely unique to the couple. We find a location that speaks to their relationship and let their interactions do most of the heavy lifting. Sometimes that means we are getting cozy on the beach, and other times it means we are having drinking contests in a bar. The best engagement photos are the ones where you are 100% true to who you are.
For those who may be on the fence about using the engagement session credit in almost all of our packages, here are some key takeaways. Engagement sessions are a wonderful way to get to know your wedding photographer. He or she will get to see you and your significant other in your natural element. They will see how you tick, what makes you laugh, and get a deeper sense of your personality. It truly helps for those on both sides of the camera to build rapport and trust, which translates into a smoother wedding day.
Engagement photos are often used for Save the Date cards. They are also often put on display at the wedding itself where the guest book and seating chart are located. Finally, for many if not most couples, the engagement session is the first time they have ever been photographed professionally together before. That in and of itself is an experience worth having! I can’t think of any engagement session that didn’t end feeling like a few friends hanging out. You will laugh, you will have fun. I promise!
Ok enough of my soap box. I’m a big believer of the engagement session, and I look forward to all the beautiful locations, golden hours, and chemistry I get to shoot in 2020.
Now let’s take a look at some highlights from 2019!
With love,
Nicole
